About Dr. Gregory P. Seltz

Dr. Gregory P. Seltz is a leading voice in American Christianity—a theologian, broadcaster, and public theologian known for bringing biblical clarity into the nation’s cultural and civic conversations. His ministry has spanned major cities, diverse communities, and national airwaves, leaving a lasting impact on churches and leaders across the country.

Before coming to Washington, D.C., Dr. Seltz served as the Speaker of The Lutheran Hour®—one of the longest-running, most widely broadcast Christian radio programs in North America. From 2011 onward, and now as Speaker Emeritus, he shared the Gospel each week with more than a million listeners on over 1,800 stations and the American Forces Network, serving as preacher, evangelist, and global ambassador for Lutheran Hour Ministries.

Prior to his national broadcasting work, Dr. Seltz spent over a decade at Concordia University Irvine, where he directed the Cross-Cultural Ministry Center and served as Professor of Theology. There, he trained more than 75 pastors for dynamic service in America’s urban mission fields, helping launch ministries in communities as diverse as Vietnamese, Korean, Spanish-speaking, Indonesian, and African-American—reflecting his commitment to a church that crosses cultural borders with the Gospel.

His earlier ministry includes serving as Executive Director of Life’s Journey Ministries in Manhattan, planting Church for All Nations (LCMS)—the first new Lutheran mission start in New York City in over 40 years—and leading mission work in Dallas and pastoral ministry in Tampa. Across each setting, he has been known for building bridges, raising leaders, and bringing Christ into the public square.

A sought-after speaker nationwide, he and his wife, Marie Yvette, are blessed with one daughter, Devin, and one son-in-law, Garrett.
